WEB-TEC chafe guard is a revolutionary new line protection system designed to protect ropes from the most abrasive marine environments.

WEB-TEC is an extremely flexible, yet rugged wrap of high-tech urethane coated nylon and Kevlar® fabrics. Designed to offer either fixed or sliding protection, WEB-TEC is available for any line diameter or length.

Where WEB-TEC really excels is protecting Spectra-based lines made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers. Since UHMWPE lines are three to five times more expensive than most wire rope arrangements, proper chafe protection and rope maintenance can allow synthetics to outlast wire rope by three to four times in certain applications.

WEB-TEC comes in two grades:
  • IS-Grade: Heavy-Duty
  • OS-Grade: Extreme-Duty

WEB-TEC offers many advantages over standard chaffing gear. Fire hose, over-braids and tubular Cordura® sleeves frequently bind in one place and are almost impossible to restore to original set-up position.

Due to its special construction, WEB-TEC chafe guards have an inherent "memory." This "memory" causes crushed sections to straighten out and lengthen, as opposed to gathering in one spot.

WEB-TEC also has an extremely slippery urethane coated inside (of either Kevlar® or nylon) and an industrial grade nylon cover on the outside where it contacts the hull, chock, cleat, bit, etc.

WEB-TEC wraps tightly around the line with a Velcro® closure system. It can br quickly moved to other areas where chafe is a problem or quickly taken off all together.
